hi I have a Hotpoint wml520 aquarius washing machine. It has just stopped mid cycle after making an odd noise and the drum will now no longer turn. i have taken the back off to have a look and the motor and belt appear to be working ok but when the belt tries to turn the drum it cannot move it as for some reason it is completely stuck. I believe that normally the drum should be able to be turned freely. The wheel on the back of the drum which the belt fits around can only be moved about 1 or 2 mm. Can anyone advise please? Many thanks for any help

Hi to all on here! I found this site by chance, lets see if I can find some answers! I have an issue with a Hotpoint Aquarius 8640 washer dryer. It seems to make a clanking, knocking noise while operating as of late, naturally this is worse during the spin cycle. I have taken the top/back covers off and looked inside. On inspection nothing broken or out of shape, all seems to be as it should be. The rear of the drum seems to have a lot of excess movement, like it is flopping around, forward and backwards and up and down. My guess is the gas struts at the bottom are worn giving excessive movement ? They look like oil is weeping from them. Al…

I've had the machine for about 4 months. It makes tapping noises. banging noises, high pitched whistle when spinning and has developed a creaking noise recently. I've levelled it up with a spirit level and tried different ways to make the load even, including pausing the program half way through and moving the clothes around. Nothing seems to work!?

Hi all. New here so bare with me. Two days ago I put a wash on as normal and whilst I was in the shower I heard a loud pop come from the washing machine. When I went into the kitchen the washing machine was completely off and I’m unable to get it back on at all. There was an electrical burn smell in the air. I decided to have a look in the back of the machine and found that the connector wire to the motor has been burnt, also there’s a lot of what may be like scale or rust on the male connector. I’ll attach photos for you to see. Anyway my question is, will I be able to repair this? And if so do you know how? If you have any questions feel free to ask. P.s the …

Hi All, We have a 2011 LG washing machine, it makes little to no noise while washing, but when it spins it is vibrating a lot and making a quite horrendous noise, Not much else to say, just wondered if you had any ideas what the noise points to and what i need to do to fix it. Thanks in advance video-1607074094.mp4

Hello, I have an indesit washing machine and the drum has dropped. I need to attach this again but not sure where the springs attach to. There are a couple of holes on the side of the top frame either side but the opposite holes are not symmetrical. I have attached a couple of pics. Regards,

Hi, I would much appreciate any help with the following. The Door on my Indesit is permanently locked with the door lock symbol on the control panel illuminated. I can open it with the green plastic door lock over ride strip ( by pulling it downwards ). The fault code F06 is appearing on the control panel with all the lights flashing. The other symptom is when you first turn the power on there is a 1 second long " fast rattle " sound - like the door solenoid is opening and shutting rapidly. I bought a new door catch and installed it but the symptoms remain the same ( the old one didn't smell burnt out either ). Any ideas what to try next ? Thanks …

I have a 4 year old zanussi lindo 300 and it has started making an unusual noise. The noise is a ratting sound which happens at the very beginning of the cycle, before the drum even starts moving or water comes in. Once the water starts filling and drum starts moving the noise stops and everything continues normal. I am worried that if I don't address the cause of the rattling sound, more damage will occur. I've searched endlessly on Google but can't find anything specifically relating to noises before the drum starts moving. I have attached a short video where you can hear the noise quite clearly. Any ideas would really be appreciated! Thanks in advance. 20201205_…

Hi all, Sorry for barging in, I've searched the internet for any info on this issue but can't find anything and this is my last resort. Basically, last year I bought one of the fancy series 6 washer dryers from Bosch. Have been fairly happy with its performance until about two weeks ago when it just wouldn't turn on. I tried turning it on and all the lights around the knob were red and the whole panel was lit up. There was no response when I tried using the panel, it wouldn't even turn off. Had to turn it off on the mains, after turning the mains back on the machine never turned back on again. Only feedback I'd get from the machine was some clicking, but then noth…

I’ve a problem with my Indesit XWA 71451WUK washing machine after moving house. It constantly feeds water through the Wash detergent compartment into drum at full rate throughout every stage of every cycle including Spin. Drain system set-up is correct (no siphon), as is water feed pressure. No debris in water valves or filters. Both water valve solenoid coils have continuity and correct resistance, and both valves shut off water completely on operation of either Pause or Power Off buttons, or when mains power is switched off. Pressure switch seems ok as drain pump kicks in as soon as drum water level exceeds max operating level and runs until correct waterlevel is re…

After washing, the centrifuge and the done lights keep blinking, which is an indication that the filter is dirty. I looked on the bottom and the filter is NOT stuck. There was nothing in it and could turn freely. Next to the filter there is this small hose that can be used to let out water before opening the filter. This small hose has NO water in it. When I open it nothing comes out. Any tips on how to unclog that part?

all flashing lights on the front so I took off the small pump attached to the floor of the machine and the impellor is spinning freely and when I put water in the machine it seems to pump out ok.I removed the sump of the machine and took out £8 in change... (£2 coin and 5 £1 coins a couple screws and a kirby grip and some rust particles, washed all this out and replaced everything. The machine starts a programme ,ie fills with water and moves on ,the drum rotates but then the flashing lights come on again, there was a small hole in part of the sump assembly but it was the internal part which fits into the bottom of the drum just below the heating element. …

Hi all, I looked through a lot of information but can't figure out what part of the machine has broken and why? Hopefully I can find some advice. I have a hotpoint aquarius wdal 8640. Last night during a drying cycle the machine made an almighty banging noise so I turned it off and discovered some snapped plastic and the seal pulled down. Am I right in thinking the drum has broken? Many thanks for any input.

I have been given a washing machine, Hotpoint WDL754PUK, that had a suspect door lock issue. Unfortunately I have no exact detail of the issue symptoms but can confirm the door is locked. When connected up to water and electric the control panel lights up, but nothing else happens. I have carried out a general check on connections, wiring and circuit boards. I have identified a blown transistor on the PCB of the main control module. Is this most likely the root cause or has something else provoked the transistor to blow? Is it worth replacing the main control module?

Hey guys, I bought a NEO washing machine 3 years ago. It has been working rahter well all this time ngl. However, a few days ago the door mechanism broke. You see, i'd normally take it to repair service, but since it's rather old, the warranty is long over. So i disasbled it and i took a peek inside and removed the faulty mechanism. Now i'm left with a problem thought... You see, the washing machine in question uses "metalflex zv-44g" for a lock, but it's all broekn. Anyway, I thought i could just fix this by shorting the 'common' wire to the 'live' wire. But that also did not work ~ the washing machine refused to start. So my question is really, wh…

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me identify what might be wrong with my washer/dryer. During the drying period it makes an unpleasant sound for about 2/3 mins and then stops. I have included a video with the sound which I hope will help. Thanks in advance. Img 3839-1.m4v

I've tried a few different programs all same result. The belt is fine as with the lid off the belt/drum rotation is fine, Anyone any ideas wha…

Eco bubble washing machine. Rubbers holding bolts had disintegrated and caused excessive movement of drum meaning the plastic pegs holding the motor have sheared off the front part of the drum casing. Can the front part be replaced by a reasonably competent DIYer and at a reasonable cost or is it the case of a new washing machine?

Hello, Would appreciate any help. It's just out of its 2 year guarantee and I want to make sure I've tried everything reasonably possible before splurging my wages. During its spin cycle the machine has stopped running and all horizontal lights are flashing fast. Manual says turn it off, wait a minute, turn it back on again, no joy. it just makes a gurgling sound. I have checked the commons faults page: the filter is clear and water won't drain out if I take out the waste pipe and lower it to the floor. Only thing I'm not sure about is whether or not the pump is working. Is there a simple way to check? When you turn the machine bac…

AEG L7WEG851R washer/dryer. Have read the troubleshooting articles but not found this (very specific) issue. Any advice gratefully received. The issue is that the drum is refusing to spin. It tries to spin, and does move slightly, but then it stops again. It then does the same in the opposite direction after a short delay. It's almost as if it's getting stuck on something. I'm not sure if the machine even registers an issue - no error code and it just keeps trying. If we turn it off, open the door and rotate the drum by hand, there is initially some resistance - almost feels magnetic as it is notchy, if that makes sense. Then after a short delay it free…
