berrypie
Hello Everyone, We replaced the suspension rods on the machine and the rumbling went down but the clicking and squeaking is still very loud (see video) on the spin cycle only. Do you guy have any idea what it can be? Model MCSTCW16W4 1.6 Cu. Ft. Thank you in advance! washer.mp4
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted December 20, 2022 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 20, 2022 Hello there. It sounds like it could be related to movement of the main outer drum. Can you replicate the noise in any way by manually bouncing and shaking the tub around? berrypie 1 Need a repair or spare parts? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted December 20, 2022 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 20, 2022 Also try shaking and moving the machine itself in case the noises caused by a crack or break in the chassis or maybe at one of the feet or wheels. berrypie 1 Need a repair or spare parts? berrypie
Hello Andy! I've tried what you mentioned and the noise cannot be replicated. It only sounds like that while on the rinse cycle. Do you have any other ideas of what it can be? Thank you so much!
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted December 21, 2022 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 21, 2022 Unfortunately I never worked on top loaders. It sounds like something is catching or moving and clicking once every revolution. You'd need to disconnect the drive belt to see if the noise is coming from the motor or the drum. With it connected you are hearing the motor and drum at the same time. You'd also need to take off a back panel or if none is fitted, the casing would have to be removed to investigate. berrypie
I personally hate unresolved posts! We have found the issue with the clicking. We removed the drum and noticed a tiny piece of black plastic thing was stuck to the side. Once we removed it, the sound went away. Thank you Andy for your help! The brainstorming helped us to the solution Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted December 22, 2022 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 22, 2022 Thank you for the update. Yes I thought it was something that was catching, once per revolution. However, what the hell it is and how it got there is another matter. berrypie 1 Need a repair or spare parts?
