- Most washing machine faults are not specific to a brand
- Most faults and fixes are the same for all washing machines

Just purchased an LG WPT20wy mini washer. While installing I pulled the draw out but when I pushed it back in it would only go in 3/4 of the way. Tried pushing it back in when power is on but no go. Does not show any fault on read out.

We have a new LG WT7800, which is a High Efficiency top-loader. On Normal cycle the fill level seems very low – with a small load, there is no pooled water in the tub at all (though after several minutes of "washing" the clothes are at least wet), and with a medium load the water fill is several inches below the top of the load. Is this normal?

My LG has started making a loud rubber grinding noise, even though it’s belt free that’s the best way I can describe it, it’s more on a full load, though not always and it’s very loud its currently been washing for ten mins and nothing, but will start later in the cycle i have a recording but can’t see how to add it here

My mother purchased a new LG washer model number WT5480CW. It is one of the new HE type. It sounds like a jack hammer. My Mom says they are supposed to sound like that, but I don't think the salesman was telling the truth. Has anybody else had a similar issue? I tried to convince her to take it back but she refuses. I have attached a video as well. Washer.mov

I got some good help here many many years ago when the bearings went on my machine and I was looking for a replacement. I ended up with a Zanussi which eventually went too and I replaced that with a LG F1281TD. When I saw that it had a direct drive motor with a ten year guarantee I kind of assumed that it was not going to be prone to the bearing wear that I always seem to suffer from. The machine has been getting louder and louder in its spin cycle so I am now starting to think that I was mistaken as it's just made an awfully loud knocking noise during the spin. Are these direct drive machines still prone to bearing failure? Kind regards, Matt

Hello, I have LG WD12346RD washing machine and this one has cold and hot feed. I was wondering is it possible to run a machine with hot pipe capped? Most of the washing machines run on cold feed, so why this one can't? I don't want to disconnect it from hot feed because I don't know what happen. Could somebody clarifies this for me? Many thx Tom

I have had the above washing machine for a couple of years but have never been able to use it as a tumble dryer without a washing programme being run first. How can I just dry something with it? Many thanks.

I thought I'd decided, the John lewis jlwm1605, then I found the lgf1681td, similar specifications, 8kg, 1600rpm, and £100 or so cheaper, but reviews mention, apart from unhelpful delivery men, the excessive shake rattle and rolling during the fast 1600rpm spin. This can't be good for long term health of the whole machine. Any thoughts or comments to cure my indecisiveness?

Hi everyone, After much research, I think I will be purchasing a new silver LG WM14316FD. I chose this machine over the Zanussi ZWF16581S, after finding it to be a near impossible task to get the machine delivered within a reasonable amount of time. I need a big drum, which is the only reason why I'm not buying a Miele machine. I should recieve the machine early next week, at which time I will try and post any initial feedback on this LG machine. Also, if anyone knows this to be a bad choice of model - please reply to this post as soon as possible!! (Thanks to Admin for this extremely handy site!!)

I wonder if anyone has any experience of the LG WM1437WFD (Steam Direct Drive). I have seen that it is a Which Best Buy but am unsure whether or not it is worth investing in such an expensive washing machine. Thanks in advance.

We have purchased this machine after reading Washerhelps review, and we found it at a good price, (£330 inc vat and delivery) It comes with a one year manufacturers warranty. We thought we would just go with that. I forgot to check out spares and availability, only remembering that Washerhelp said they were easy to work on. And if this turns out to be a lemon, we will go and try a top of the range next time, like Miele. Call it an experiment:-) This model has a 7kg drum (3.5 drying capacity)and adjustable spin speed from 400 to 1200 A hot and cold fill, which despite the discussions, I still prefer:-) Also see Washerhelps comments on this thread. http://www…

I am hoping someone can offer an opinion on LG brand of washing machines? I got the idea that a direct drive might be a good thing, but am not sure? Is this a good quality machine? I am looking for a washer/dryer of reasonable quality, and shortlist is AEG, and Siemens. I would ideally like a hot/cold fill so, Miele is not out of the question, and LG does too. I also have a depth issue so that took out the John Lewis machine. Thanks for the great site, but my head is still spinning. Is there an ISE washer/dryer? Edit; I just found Washerhelps review of LG, thanks. (Have no idea as to how I put the green face on my post! )
