Hi My washing machine is currently not getting up to speed on the final spin of any of the wash cycles which means the clothes stay soaking wet and the cycle never finishes. I want to get it fixed but don't want to get ripped off. Could someone suggest what the most likely reasons would be for this sort of malfunction? Thanks in advance!

My LG wm 12225FD 7.5 kg washing machine has begun to stop midcycle and display OE on the panel. Do not have instruction book, what does OE mean? Switching of and on at the mains sometimes restarts it successfully.

Hello all, hope I am in the right section for possible answers. The machine in question is 2 years old and has been fine. At the moment we fill it, select the programme required, and it washes but then sticks on the rinse cycle and won't advance to the spin cycle. Clothes are washed and cleaned okay, but very wet. Any help most appreciated. Cheers, Spike (and a frustrated other half..)

Hello. I have a Hotpoint BHWD129 washer dryer, about a month ago there was a loud bang from the washer during the spin cycle, then it came to a sudden stop. I pulled the washer out to find the motor spindle which is sited near the lower right side on the rear had punctured through the metal back plate, thus shredding the belt. At the time I suspected overloading and warned wifey of further problems if overloading, (I got reply, well you do the washing then ). Anyway I replaced the belt and all has been ok, then yesterday the same thing has happened, this time though I was in to witness it, I took out the load which was not excessive. Could there be something else wrong w…

Hi, my hoover hpb145 special edition 1400 is about 8 years old and the cycles have started taking longer, e.g. the fast 29 minute cycle takes about and hour and the 40 min cycle takes twice that! Is this a pcb fault? or is there a seperate timer in there? thanks in advance.

Hi, wonder if you can help. I've got a Hotpoint Aqualtis that I've had for 2-3 years and for the last few weeks it's been leaking via the soap/conditioner dispenser (quite badly) to the point where I have to put a towel on the floor to mop up the flood. The drawer is clean and is not blocked in any way so I don't understand why or how to stop it. I know it's leaking from there as I can see the splashes all the way down the machine when I open the door after the wash is complete. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Please help me! My problem with fixing my Zanussi WDT1085 Washer Drier is still ongoing. I have removed the facia and the programme knob. When I turn the metal shaft that the programme knob is attached to (and that pokes out of the programme(?) box I can advance the programmes manually but the Timer Knob Cam Disc (orange plastic) still turns freely without advancing the programmes. Obviously it is not attached properly to the metal shaft. I've trying to remove the cam disc, to check how it is attached and possible to replace it, but can't manage it. Do you have any tips on removing this cam disc? I'm not sure which is the PCN number for my machine but here are some of th…

The Saga goes.... My wife reports that machine will not spin... Investigation starts Filter thing at bottom emptied (nothing there) try different cycles... all will fill then get to the bit where the drum should turn and it stops. I try to manually move drum but it will not budge. Case is now off. Belt removed, motor moves freely Drum will is seized up No sign of an obstruction other than a ball shape in one of the lower hoses attached to bottom quarter of drum. difficult to access the circlip to inspect and i suspect it is a float of some sort. Has it died?, or is there still hope that it is a simple fix.

Hi My Bosch washing machine is not working. I replaced the brushes this morning and as the old ones were significantly worn down, I hoped I'd solved the problem. No such luck. When the machine is switched on it makes a few electrical 'clicks' and water can be heard apparently entering - but none seems to enter the drum. Many more 'clicks' and 'whirrs' later, some water does in fact sluice the detergent dispenser but at no time does the drum rotate to wash or spin. Around 30 minutes after START the END light comes on and the clothes are as dry as they went in. When the pump cap is opened about half a litre of water pours out. I can freely turn the pump impeller and the…

My integrated undershelf washing machine has been leaking. I suspected from the main door. I removed the large wooden panel on the front that's part of the kitchen facia to expose the raw machine and a thin plane of metal that is the actual door. I did this to confirm more clearly where the dribble was coming from but now that the heavy door is off the dribbling has stopped. Is the door to heavy and has been deforming the seal or is the seal just old and a new one will withstand the weight of the door? Thanks for any advice... Miele W2809

I have a Bosch ClassixX. It has a front panel with four push button switches for different functions grouped together and one push button start switch slightly to one side. The start switch has been playing up for some time, requiring a particular type of 'push' to make it work. Now, it won't work at all. I'm not sure if the fault is mechanical or a dodgy electrical contact within the switch. Does anyone know if I can buy a replacement switch or whether I will have to replace the entire panel?

Hi guys, I have a Indesit washing machine which I have owned for over four years. I am having a problem with the machine which has occurred previously. Basically, the machine will work fine until the cycle ends. Then, the error code F05 appears and I am unable to open the machine door. I have researched the error code and it is supposedly related to the pressure switch. I have emptied the filter and lots of dirty water and muck has come out. I don't want to waste money on getting an engineer in as I would rather get a new machine. I was just wondering is there anyway I could repair the machine myself? Many Thanks

I have a Bosch Exxcel WVD2452s washer/dryer which is a few years old. When i select the dryin program it appears to attempt to dry however no heat is produced. It appears to stop the drying cycle after about 15/16 mins. I have been told that there is a thermostar reset trip switch which is located behind the cover, however after removing the top and back bulge i cannot appear to find anything to 'reset' Does this sound like a thermostat or element problem? Any ideas?

Hi All, I've spent this morning trying to change a worn out door seal on our Indesit WD12S washer dryer. I've managed to remove the door, soap dispenser, take the top off, get the old seal off and put a new one in (somehow). But I'm struggling now to put the inside clip on the seal. The real problem is I cannot for the life of me figure how to take out the front fascia on this washing machine. There appear to be no screws at the top (below the control panel) or bottom to do this. Looking inside the machine, it almost appears as if the front has been welded/stuck in. I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me if there was a way to remove the front fascia at all? I have a …

Hiya We have a Idesit washing machine .. not sure of model but it has this on it.. WIXL163. The actual machine works fine but our clothes always have a stagnant smell to them when we take them out the machine. The clothes are not left in there, we take them out straight away. We use softener but it makes no difference. I am at a loss as to why this is hence joining this forum in the hope that some one has an answer.

hello, just wanted to ask a question about what happened to my washing machine...i am from usa and just realized this is a uk forum but it is the only one i have come across....just the other day my washing machine (Gibson Heavy-Duty Extra Large Capacity Model#-GWX433RHS0) started making funny noises then started squealing and smoking and now it will not spin...pulled the cover off, and the belt is fine because that was my first thought of what happened due to the squealing...wondering what else may be the issue with it, you cannot even spin the bucket by hand now. i know nothing about appliances, someone give me your wisdom please.
