Beko WDR7543121 WasherDryer - Clothes come out wet after drying.

This machine has worked well for a couple of years.

After a combined wash and dry cycle the clothes came out clean but soaking wet, really wet, you could wring water out of them.  As the machine had been left for a few hours after the cycle finished before the door was opened I can't say anything about the temperature.

We have run test cycles on the 30 min drying cycle.

• The clothes were just damp to touch when put in.
• If the cycle was interrupted at 15 minutes the clothes were drying, they were warm and no wetter than when put in.
• At the end of the cycle they were warm and soaking wet, water dripping when lifted and could be wrung out.

I have checked the lint trap and it was cleared of minor debris.

The machine seems to wash normally and spin normally.

Hello. If the laundry was warm it implies that the heating element is working, at least to some extent. If the clothes are still wet after the drying cycle on a washer dryer and they are warm or hot then the problem is likely to be related to the condensing system not working.

On a washer dryer (and on a condenser dryer) the steam generated during drying needs to be converted back to water and pumped away. So if this is not happening then the laundry does not dry and you can get a build up of water in the drum. Thanks for your reply, I have read your article.

Let me clarify, it is not that the clothes are still wet after the drying cycle.  It is that they are much wetter than when they went in.  A test run was made with clothes that were just damp, you could not wring any water out of them.  After the cycle they were dripping wet so the machine had added water to them.  There was no residual water pooled in the drum but it was wet.  They were steaming but could be handled manually.

Does this narrow the cause down?

Hi.  If the water that runs into the machine during drying is not being pumped away or the steam isn’t condensing back to water by hitting a trickle of water inside the condenser chamber then the laundry will get wetter.
 

If laundry isn’t drying in a washer dryer drying cycle it can only be that the heater isn’t working, or one of the causes mentioned in my article.

Thank you, I was hoping my additional information would narrow down the cause.  I that the laundry is actually getting wetter.  I wondered where the extra water was coming from.

@Niccolowe have the same machine and same problem. The towels were almost dry, after having issues with the dry cylce, and once I put it on again they came out completely soaking. Did you get yours fixed, what was the cause?

Sorry for not replying, I did not get any further but as we rarely use the drying cycle, we have just been using it as a washing machine.  I need to get it fixed or replaced so I will update if we get a fix.

I know there’s a good chance this won’t be seen but did either of you find out what was happening? I’m having the same problem right now. It’s not a big deal because at least I can still use my machine for washing but I can’t find anything on google and the Beko troubleshooting is completely hopeless.

I tried a few things, from clearing filters which mean taking the back off the machine,...  Checking for any physical damage on cables and resets.  Then it would come to swapping parts but in an old machine that was not cost effective so it has gone to a friend who just uses it as a washing machine.

Hi, sorry just to let you all know I’ve had the same problem. I replaced the triple inlet solenoid which rectified the problem. I saw the black restrictor washer had come unattached and was floating in the solenoid body.
