lars
So the cycles on my Bosch WM ( WDO2866GB/07 ) are taking much longer than they should...the rinse programme seems fine. Im trying to work out if its the element / thermostat or the programme board...which is what several repair people have suggested Its 10yrs old but don't want to replace unless I have to...I gather a new board means it not worth repairing but if it's the thermostat it is. On the hottest wash the glass did not seem that hot but not sure if that proves anything or not. No error codes showing. I am in a hard water area. Any thoughts or suggestions would be gratefully received...please
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted August 22, 2018 Root Admin Report Share Posted August 22, 2018 Ironically it could be a heating element fault. With some washing machines if the heater goes open circuit it can produce an extra long wash time with no error code. Also, if the element was badly caked in limescale it could reduce its effectiveness to heat the water drastically. If you can hear the "kettling" sound a lot during wash that could be it. But it also could be any of the other things you mention. Unfortunately there's no way to test which it is without someone looking at it. To be honest, 10 years is pretty good these days.
