andyr12345
My Hotpoint WMUD843 was bought in around 2012 - its working fine, but the rubber feet have worn down and metal is showing through the black rubber parts and I am pretty sure as its spinning the noise of the washing machine is transferring to the feet of the washing machine up through the floor and the walls as its spinning and would be a lot quieter and smoother when spinning if it had a set of new rubber feet - has anyone got any ideas how to 'refurbish' the ones that are already on the washing machine at all? - I can get brand new ones of the internet for around 8euro each so thats 8euro x4 = 32euro and then plus postsage, a fair price just for some small parts. And then my only other option is getting a set of 4 used feet off ebay.. but the ones I have looked at are in a bit of a shocking state if not as bad or worse that are already on mine. - Any ideas anyone? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 17, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 17, 2017 You can get genuine replacement feet at Ransom Spares although you could try some noise reduction cups that are a lot cheaper - noise reduction cups for washing machines andyr12345 1 Need a repair or spare parts? andyr12345
Thanks Andy - that idea of the noise reduction cups sound like an ideal solution for me, and cheaper ... and its one I never thought of - so thanks Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
andyr12345
in the outdoor section of Homebase the other day I see some really thick rubber black mats , I can only think that these are made for when you have outdoor childrens play equipment like swings and slides so you can put them on concrete and make it safe for them if they fall off a swing or something. So i am thinking now, I wonder how effective one of these mats (they are quite large per 1 piece) would be under my washing machine (if it can take the weight of a washing machine that is) because my washing machine just sits directly onto a concrete floor in the utility room, not even any tiles or lino or anything. I might buy one soon and see how I get on. - if not I will go down the rubber cup route for the feet.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 22, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 22, 2017 If it's thick and soft the washing machine may sink into it. If too thick that could restrict airflow under the machine. The feet are probably better. Need a repair or spare parts?
