ianz1
hello andy and alli have an indesit IWE91480(uk) washing machine 9kg load.at the start of this week i found it displaying F06 with all lights flashing.no time to do owt so left it til the weekend.door locked (red displaY on lcd)to cut things short, checked pump filter, used manual tab to open door, pump working ok and m/c empty.with door open red lock display disappears, unplugged for a while, powered up again no error display no door lock display (provided door open, if closed door lock displays) had suspected pressure s/w.decided to try running it on 15 min wash cycle(empty), it performed this ok, low level of water for wash part of cycle, up to the dished glass on door for rinse, so pressure s/w seems ok as it is distinguishing between levels (to add, set cycle then closed door this lit the door lock symbol, pressed go before it decided there was an error)i've just set it on the hottest wash empty but with powder, it seems to be functioning ok.just completed and all seemed to work ok but door did not unlock, had to do it manually.i first suspected the pressure s/w (still a possible i suppose) but now believe it to be the door s/w, be handy to know how i can check this, without pulling it all down.anyway hope this may have been of some help to someone, if anyone can say it's not the door s/w and why, i would like to hear it.otherwise guess i'm looking for a door switch.ian
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted October 14, 2013 Root Admin Report Share Posted October 14, 2013 All my Indesit error codes show F6 as not used. If the door lock has a pneumatic air look preventing the door from opening when water is inside check for a blockage. They fell into disuse years back to cut prices and because a lot of machines use less water though. If it has, there will be a thin plastic or rubber tube connected to the door interlock. If not, and the door interlock refuses to open I can't think of anything other than the interlock itself. Need a repair or spare parts? ianz1
hello andythanks for your prompt reply.the machine was bought in i think march 2012 from comet, think it was on clearance as it was very cheap, though dont recall the price now.i'm not surprised you say it's not an error code that is used, but i can assure you it was on this machine, i've had plenty of trouble finding anything about it because of this.i have the user guide supplied with the machine and F06 is not listed in that either!if you would like i could take a very short video so you can see for yourself the displayed F06 (it's on a green led screen, digits are about 20mm tall x 10mm wide) and all the lights flashing above the option switches which are above the led (sorry i wrongly called it lcd before).will just need an email addy that will accept attachments, my provider only allows very limited attachments and i've nowhere to post anything to link to.otherwise.if it's of any use the serial number of the machine (label behind the door) is 111225319, the type is labeled as LB2006TRF thats followed on by FWMP7MTR1400 thats on a label on the back.to me a washing machine is for washing clothes etc.this has a large door (much bigger than anything i've had before) makes loading/unloading easy, and a large drum, single duvets no sweat, kings a bit snug (i think) it does the job not too noisy, although some seem unaware that your load even slightly out of balance which many will be can transmit vibes through the floor, so it's one of those how long is a piece of string questions :-)i've read some of what you've posted about hot/cold fill, i have to disagree, this m/c is cold fill only and compared to previous m/c's it takes longer to complete a wash, this could of course be due to other things, but it was my first impression after i got it.i'm able to use it and it's working fine except needing to use the manual door opening tag behind the plinth next to the pump filter.will order up a door interlock, and probably dismantle the old one to find out how it works and why it now doesn't, if you would like i'll let you know about the results of that.thanks again for your replyian
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted October 15, 2013 Root Admin Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 Hi Ian, what do you disagree about re hot and cold fill? You mention it but then say it takes longer to complete a wash, which is not contrary to anything I've said If the door is just not opening with the usual method check the actual door catch mechanism on the door and the door latch. I was assuming you meant the door lock wouldn't release and was jammed. But if it opens OK manually, just not the door - check the door mechanisms and catch. Need a repair or spare parts?
