Mintz
HiThe timer selector switch on my washing machine seems to have 'slipped'?I can not select all wash programmes using the selector. For example, I selected the 40min wash; the wash went onto the 90 degree wash which takes 3 hours instead. There is also water collecting in the conditioning compartment in the washing powder tray after I have used the machine.(Although does not seem to be every use)I am unsure whether to buy a new machine or have this one repaired as I don't know which is the cheaper option. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted October 2, 2012 Root Admin Report Share Posted October 2, 2012 If it's a mechanical timer it may just need a new control knob. When you turn it normally did it have any resistance as though it was turning cogs or something? If they break they can go out of sync so all the programmes go out. Need a repair or spare parts? Mintz
Control knob seems to operate correctly, Although when select functions it illuminates the incorrect spin setting lights for that wash, none at all or blinking on and off. For example; Turn selector to a 29min wash, and the max light illuminates when it should be medium (Spin) and does wrong wash cycle.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted October 3, 2012 Root Admin Report Share Posted October 3, 2012
I can't be sure without seeing it of course, but it sounds like it's just gone out of sync somehow so check the knob is on properly and not cracked on the shaft. Other than that maybe the selector is faulty, if you can't see a problem with the knob and the selector seems secured properly I would get an engineer out.
Need a repair or spare parts?
