Curious
I ordered a new door hinge and whilst removing the old hinge, a back plate seemed to drop into the washing machine meaning there is nowhere to screw the new hinge onto! To retrieve the back plate I assume I need to remove the front cover. Can you advise please. Many thanks.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 30, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 30, 2006 Hi, you should be able to retrieve it by unplugging the washing machine and taking off the door seal clamp band and then unpeeling the door seal from the door opening. You can then reach down and find it. Just insert a flat bladed screwdriver between the plastic clips that hold the door seal onto the door opening and gently prize the two pieces apart. The door gasket just comes off easily. Alternatively, you may be able to retrieve the hinge bracket by tipping the washing machine back and feeling around the chassis although it can be tricky because there is a deep shelf where it falls.
