RichardOwen Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Hi all, The machine works perfectly except the drum doesn't turn. Water goes in, water goes out, the programme timer turns. I've taken the top and back off and I can hear the relay switching to turn the drum motor on but no action. There's not even any attempt to turn the drum. The belt's Ok. The motor turns freely by hand. Any ideas as to where to start to look? Thanks, Richard
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted July 30, 2011 Root Admin Posted July 30, 2011 If the motor is fitted with carbon brushes they will be the main suspect. The first thing an engineer would do it test the motor with a continuity meter. If you can't see anything obvious around the motor plug, or detect worn carbon brushes you would be better calling in an engineer for this fault. Need a repair or spare parts?
