tixxy
I've checked the back to see if the drive belt had snapped only to realise there insnt one visible. See pic. The drum is very loose. It can be moved forward and backwards slightly and when I turn it with my hand there's friction. A bit crunchy-like. I'm guessing there's a problem with the motor. Here's an 'interesting' vid of the internals: DzVtWwrnnVI (put this code into google) Heres a full part list: https://www.samsungspares.co.uk/laundry/washing-machine/wd8704rja/catalogue.pl?path=627424%2C627463&model_ref=9321017 Heres a replacement drive belt: https://www.partscentre.co.uk/samsung-washing-machine-drive-belt-pol92.html Heres the official item page from Samsung: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/WD8704RJA/XEU/ Edited May 25 by tixxy
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 28 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 28 Hi there. This looks like one of the direct drive washing machines, whereby the motor is built into the drum. So there isn't a drive belt. I don't think there's anything you can really try. You would probably be better getting engineer. Need a repair or spare parts? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 30 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 30 Always worth looking into. But it's likely to either need a new motor, a new PCB controller, or it could even be something as silly as a faulty connection between the two. It's just not straightforward.
