Zanussi washer dryer not filling with water. No error code and is turning etc.

Recommended Posts

I cleaned the filter, which I've done loads of times, and now the washer is not filling with water. I've checked the filter is back in properly. There is no error code and it would do a full cycle if I let it without water in. We've checked all pipes and water is getting to it. We've also tried a new valve as per the photo.

Hi. If the pressure system is faulty or has a blockage it can fool the washing machine into thinking it has water inside when it hasn’t.

This will stop it from taking any more water in. However, it can also put the heater on during wash cycle which can be dangerous. It should also stop the washing machine from doing a fast spin.

Put the washing machine onto a spin only cycle. If it doesn’t kick into a fast spin check the pressure system.

Do a search on these forums for pressure system to learn more and follow any links to my articles on Whitegoodshelp about it or go to Whitegoodshelp and search for pressure system.

Hi. It shouldn’t be possible for a washing machine to do a cycle with no water inside. If no water is going into the machine then when you put it onto a wash cycle such as 40 degrees cottons it should sit there trying to fill. After a few minutes it should time out and give an error code.

A blocked pressure system could still be the cause as it can still slowly release the blocked pressure and so it may spin after being left for some hours. If it was a blocked pressure system that has slowly released, it should fill up now. If it still doesn't fill then maybe it's not a blocked pressure system.

If the washing machine stopped filling after you cleaned filters (was it the water valve filters?)  If so the main suspect is a kinked hose or tap not letting enough water through.
