Curious
For about 3 years and on several occasions, some items of clothing have been damaged after a wash cycle on No 4 (not-fast coloureds). I have checked the washing machine thoroughly but could not find any defects other than a few coins in the water pump outlet. The last time this happened a woolen top had been sucked into the small drum holes, and tore when removed. Also I have noticed white residues on the clothes which we cannot explain as we use liquid washing agents. Any advice would be welcome.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 19, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 Clothes being torn or damaged is usually blamed on overloading by manufacturers. Another possible cause could be clothes spun on too high a speed for the fabric, woolens should not be spun on high speeds. It's also possible for something to be stuck inside the tub under the drum which clothes can catch on as they spin although you'd expect some noise on spin too. As for the white deposits on clothes, that too can be caused by overloading, which can stop the detergent from circulating properly and trap bits of detergent inside folds in the laundry.Am I overloading my washing machine? | Washing (laundry) is still dirty or has marks on it (marks on clothes) Need a repair or spare parts?
