Rob123
I have fitted 2 new carbon brushes, which were completely worn out. But now it doesn’t seem to spin fast. It almost gets up to speed but then just slows down again. I’ve changed the brushes round, and it all appears to be lined up. any advice please
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted November 2, 2022 Root Admin Report Share Posted November 2, 2022 If the motor is sparking a lot the fault is with the motor, but if not, and especially if this fault was present before you looked at the brushes, it could be the pcb or something else. If neither of the brushes were charred, it's unlikely they were causing a fault, although obviously if worn down would need replacing soon. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted November 2, 2022 Root Admin Report Share Posted November 2, 2022 Also, sometimes a washing machine will not spin if it has no load inside the drum, or if the load is unbalanced, or if there's a fault on the pressure system. Put a full load inside and when it gets to spin see if the motor is labouring or sparking (very small sparks shouldn't be a concern). Need a repair or spare parts?
