Steviem05
Hi guys newbie here, my washing machine seems to of developed a possible door lock fault, the alarm goes off and it won't operate unless I press firmly on the door and hold, it'll then work, I suspect a catch, but thought I check before ordering the part, any ideas? Thanks in advance 👍
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted June 8, 2021 Root Admin Report Share Posted June 8, 2021 Hello Stevie. Yes you are right to realise that a successful operation of the door lock relies not only on the door lock not being faulty but also the door catch and door actually operating it properly. Things to watch out for is if the door seal has come slightly detached from the door outer rim at any point. That can stop the door from closing properly. It's also worth trying spraying a bit of WD-40 inside the door lock opening. Other than that checked that the door catch that operates the door lock is not broken or loose.
