Rubadubdub
Hello, Our Hotpoint 95620 is on the blink. She's an old girl (getting near 40 years) and so no fault codes! I know her pretty well but cannot figure this out. The motor turns but does not sound smooth (stutter?) and does not spin. It does this on all settings. Pretty sure it's not the motor as I swopped it for another and still have the same problem. Now where's that old twin tub..........................? Cheers
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 26, 2021 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 26, 2021 Hi, might be a poor connection somewhere or maybe a fault on the control module. Too risky to replace module on such an old machine though. Need a repair or spare parts? Rubadubdub
Thank you Andy, Forgive me, Control Module? Is that what I would call the Timer to set the wash cycle? Have a good weekend.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 26, 2021 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 26, 2021 Cheers. No it’s a separate pcb normally. It’s possible for them to be combined though. Rubadubdub
Hi Andy, Thank you for your response and putting me on the right track. I took a look at the control module and the pcb is cracked. The crack passes through 7 traces with some loosing contact. I have managed to find a replacement for not a lot of money, I have fitted it and it works! Happy days, at least for now! By the way, I do actually have a Hoover twin tub. Can you still get belts for these? Have a great Easter. Thanks again Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 20, 2021 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 20, 2021 Hoover twin tubs. That brings back a lot of memories. I think it's possibly over 30 years since they stop making them. I doubt there are any spares left for them but I would ask Hoover themselves if you can't see anything on somewhere like Ransom spares. Need a repair or spare parts? Rubadubdub
Hello Andy, Thanks for the reply and the advise. I'll give it a go. I hope they were fond memories! I certainly can remember my mum with wooden tongs. Cheers
