Hello Peter. If the error E21 means that the washing machine pump is blocked, and it isn't then it is likely there is a problem with the sensing system that detects whether pump is blocked or not. This is called a pressure system, and it is quite common for them to get blocked with gunge. Then the washing machine may not receive a signal that the water has gone and the washing machine thinks it is still full of water. It would then refuse to spin. If this is the case though when you put it to spin only cycle it should time out with the same error. Can you check what happens if you just put it on the spin only cycle?

Hi Andy thanks for the reply it seems to be stuck in pump out mode , I filled it with water today , put it on Drain and it emptied it no problem then up came E21 . Would not work on any other setting but sound like still in pump mode ???

Hello Peter. Yes it still sounds like the same issue that I described in my first reply. If it is telling you that is failing to drain the water but you can clearly see that all the water is being pumped away then the fault lies in the system that detects when the water has gone. That's the pressure system that I mentioned.

Hello Peter. You would have to make sure you are using the right one by checking it on a spare site like Ransomspares. If there are different once fitted to different models you will be told to enter the product number or serial number to check which one you need. Pressure switches are pretty reliable but the new ones are a sort of magnet inside a coil and different to how they always used to be manufactured and designed. I don't know yet whether they are more or less reliable. If you are sure that the error code means that the water hasn't pumped away and there is definitely no blockage then the pressure switch could be the problem though you would have to be prepared for it to not be as it could also potentially be connection problems or even potentially a fault on the PCB.
