Curious
In the last few days my washer dryer has been less effective in drying. The dryer is getting up some heat but producing steaming, not dry, clothes. I'm guessing that wherever the steam escapes is blocked and my clothes are getting a nice sauna. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 19, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 On a condenser washer dryer such as yours, the steam is blown by a fan into the plastic condenser chamber at the back of the tub. The steam then hits a steady trickle of cold water that should be running in there. If the cold water isn't running into it then the clothes will get hot but never dry. Make sure the cold water is running in. There may be a rubber hose right at the top centre of the machine at the back with a plastic cap over it. Removing this cap should show where the water runs into the plastic condensing chamber and there should be a steady trickle when the washer dryer is tumble drying. If you have got blockages in the condenser chamber then maybe it could interfere with the drying. I gave a little more detail in a previous question on this subject here - washer dryer problem, clothes come out hot and damp Need a repair or spare parts?
