AshReid
Hi, My machine is turning on with the led's lighting, allowing me to select and start a program, doors locking and then the counter starts to countdown as normal. But nothing else happens, no water and no motor. I have tried spin modes etc, but they are all the same. I have checked that the solenoids work when powered from an external source, But they are not receiving power from the control unit. There is still meat on the motor bushes and the drum spins freely. This is my first time looking at fixing a washing machine so I don't really know what else I can check, If there are fusees or other safety 'trips' etc? That said, I would have thought that if that was the issue there would be an Error message showing? is there maybe a relay I can replace? or..? Any help would be greatly appreciated! AshReid
I have just taken a close look at the control board. I assume the black char is not a design feature.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted August 13, 2020 Root Admin Report Share Posted August 13, 2020 Hi. It’s difficult to tell from the photo but it’s common for a lot of black soot to accumulate near hot parts of PCBs that many people mistake for burning. If it wipes off and nothing is obviously burnt it might just be that but if you can see a component has burnt out fair enough. Need a repair or spare parts? AshReid
I think you might be right. it does just wipe off and the blackest thing on that side is a diode that stick works, on the other side in that location is a Power Integration IC, but aside from the black on the PCB it seems ok. that relay directly above is refusing to switch though. the board is away from the machine, testing it with an external power source) Edited August 13, 2020 by AshReid Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
