Curious
Hi, my washing machine completed a full wash cycle with no problem, but then I loaded the machine up again and nothing this time - no water filling & no drum turning, however by turning the program selector to different positions, the normal timer ticking noise starts and the drum starts to turn (but no water filling). I have checked the water supply & the 2 filters which are ok. Is there anything else I can do to diagnose this fault? Any help would be appreciated. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 19, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 Check the pump isn't open circuit, or that the neutral wire from the pump isn't broken or disconnected. Hoover washing machines are usually wired so that if the pump fails (electrically not mechanically) the water valves wont work because the neutral return for the valves passes through the pump. Curious
Thanks for the advice, removed the cover on the pump & found the windings (negative side) had burnt out. Replaced the pump & all is working fine now.
