I recently fitted a new element, due to the previous one being damaged by metal shirt collar stiffener. The issue is that on the 'Express 20' program there is a noise in the 1400 spin cycle only and on a longer program, there is no noise on the 1400 spin cycle.  I am unsure at to what the cause might be, possibly with how the element is fitted? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is it a metallic tapping noise? If so the drum could be hitting the heating element if it's not held properly in place by the heater bracket or if the drum has a crack or break in the drum spider allowing the drum to flex.

Hi Andy,

The noise is the element hitting the drum. Looking inside the drum where the element goes, I can see a metal bracket which looks damaged so not holding the element securely, so I am thinking to replace the bracket it requires removing the drum ? Thanks if you can help.

There have been some heater brackets that attach to the element and then locate into a place in the drum but not sure with this one. I would have a look on a spares site and see if it is even available as a spare and see if you can work out how it fits or ask Miele.
