Tandt
Miele WT2680 Hi, the TOC for the dryer goes open circuit about once a month. I have replaced the temperature limiter for a new one but it still happens. Have Miele increased the temperature rating of this component. Thank you for any help. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted January 29, 2020 Root Admin Report Share Posted January 29, 2020 Hi. It may be responding to overheating. The fan not running or it’s blocked, or a blockage somewhere in the condenser chamber, or if the trickle of water into the condenser chamber has stopped, all these faults can cause it to over heat. On the other hand they should all stop the dryer from drying properly too. So if during the time when the TOC is still working the dryer works perfectly then that would imply none of the above faults are present. Need a repair or spare parts? Tandt
Thanks for the reply Andy, that is helpful. I have dismantled the dryer and checked the fan etc. I will carry on with the fault finding and let you know what I find, Terry Whitegoodshelp (Andy)

Tandt
Hi Andy, yes I did read the article, thanks. I have now discovered that the fan intermittently starts. I have dismantled it and there isn't anything clogging it. On checking the price of a new part have decided to scrap the machine. Thanks for your help. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted January 31, 2020 Root Admin Report Share Posted January 31, 2020 Thanks. I presume the connections and wires leading to the fan are OK. Tandt
Hi Andy, yes it's definitely the fan. I am a retired television engineer and the electronics are not a problem for me. I am disappointed though, the machine has not had excessive use and the washer part is still fine. However, thanks again Terry. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted January 31, 2020 Root Admin Report Share Posted January 31, 2020 It's a shame for sure. It'll still work fine as just a washing machine but if you need a washer dryer that's that. Need a repair or spare parts?
