Hello community.

I have a Zanussi ZWT71201 WA. It was making an unusual noise, so I removed the back shield and looked inside the machine. I found the drive belt was disconnected from the motor and was completely wrapped around the neck of the drum pulley. I replaced the belt, but it continues to slip off.

There is no play on my drum pulley and the center bolt in it is tight.

From the front, the drum has little independent movement when I lift it up.

I would like to make a scientific diagnosis before I start buying and changing parts. Your advice and guidance is welcomed.

Interestingly, I had a look on espares and there is no listing for bearings for my model.

P.S. Can anyone point me to a service repair manual for the Zanussi ZWT71201 WA?

Thanks

Mike

Hello Mike. Many washing machines have completely sealed drums and can’t be repaired now. Check on Ransom Spares and if it’s not on there too they won’t be available.

A little bit of play is normal if it’s only a millimetre or so but if much more than that it can throw the belt off by allowing the drum pulley to run out of line.

I put all possible causes of the belt coming off into my help article here

Belt keeps coming off
