Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted August 26, 2019 Root Admin Report Share Posted August 26, 2019 If you take the belt off then spin the drum by hand from the front can you hear it? joeyr1969
Hi Andy , No there is no noise if i spin it from the front. The clicking noise is coming from the motor even when i turn the spindle with the belt off. The wife said she could smell burning when it was running. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted August 26, 2019 Root Admin Report Share Posted August 26, 2019 Ok. With you saying initially that the noise stops when the belt is taken off it implicates the drum (or even the belt) but if it is clicking when you turn the motor by hand it sounds like a loose commutator on the armature - especially if combined with a smell of burning. Chances are the motor would need replacing. Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Buy appliance spares (Cheapest prices guaranteed) Warning: Read this before attempting any diy repairs.
