Yvan
Good afternoon, Excuse me for my bad English. I hope you'll understand me and you'lle be able to help me. My washmachine Hoover Nextra HNL 6146 show the error code 7. The magnet was out of the tacho ring. I've remount the magnet and the washmachine worked again perfectly. But only once. The next time I've tried to wash, the machine moved very strongly. It seems that it doesn't find the right speed. The drum turns a little bit too fast during the washing program and hesitates to speed up. It happens also when the washmachine is empty. If I try the spinning program, it hesitates to speed up and, I think, try to balance the drum. But it is empty. There is no more error code. I've launched the auto-diagnostic. Everything's OK, but the final spinning lasts approximately 5 seconds in place of 27 seconds. When the auto-diagnostic stops, the led's continue to flash. Is this normal? When I've mounted the magnet, I've laid out the washmachine on its side. Is it possible that the drum is now unbalanced or I've flawed an element of the machine? It seems the drum's ball-bearing is OK. The counterweight above the drum is well fixed. Maybe I've pushed the tacho ring a little bit too deep in its emplacement. When I've dismount it again, I've noticed the magnet rubbed on the bottom of the tacho ring. Can it damage the tacho? I hope I've well explained my problem and you'll can give me some directions to follow to repare my washmachine. Don't hesitate to contact me for more explanations. I thank you in advance for your answers. Have a nice day Yvan
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted July 5, 2019 Root Admin Report Share Posted July 5, 2019 The speed of the motor is controlled using the tacho coil and a magnet running inside it. Is the magnet on the end of the motor inside the tacho coil on and fixed tight? More information on this error here Hoover Nextra error code 7 Need a repair or spare parts? Yvan
It's the first thing I did wednesday. I know this error code. I've had this ten years ago and you told me how to repair my washer machine. I've fixed the magnet tight. Then the washer machine worked perfectly. But only once. When I tried again, it didn't work anymore. But no more error code. The machine do "vroom vroom vroom" as it wants to accelerate. Don't laugh! ;-) I don't know how to explain it. ;-)) I've verified the pump. It works perfectly. Anything is blocked inside. The autodiagnistic runs right, but the spin at the end is short (5 sec instead of 27 sec) and the led's continue to flash. I know my first topic is long and that my English is bad, but I've explained all what I've done in this topic. Perhaps I've done something wrong. Could you please read my first topic again. If you don't understand something I'll try to explain it more correctly! Excuse me and thanks a lot for your patience. Have a nice evening Yvan
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted July 8, 2019 Root Admin Report Share Posted July 8, 2019 If the washing machine motor is spinning too fast this is a fault between the tacho coil and the PCB. On modern washing machines it's usually caused when the tacho coil magnet has dropped off, is very loose, or is broken. If everything is okay with the tacho coil and the magnet, and you have continuity between the two tacho coil wires in the motor harness down to the PCB then the only suspect left is the PCB. However, they are too expensive to risk buying one in case for some reason it doesn't fix the fault. Need a repair or spare parts? Yvan
Good afternoon, Thanks a lot for your answer. I've dismounted the tacho again and I've noticed that the two metal parts weren't in contact anymore. Perhaps because I've pushed the tacho ring a little bit too deep in its emplacement. I've glued these two metal parts at the plastic part with a strong glue (Have you another solution?). I don't know if it will hold on a long time! The washermachine works again. \o/ But it does a strange sound when it's washing. It doesn't do this sound when it's spinning. I attach two sound's files, so you can hear it. I there something else wrong? Can I verify something else? Thanks in advance for your answer. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted July 15, 2019 Root Admin Report Share Posted July 15, 2019 The first one sounds like it's not getting even power so the motor seems to be surging a bit. I can only assume it's related to the fault you've been having. Need a repair or spare parts? Yvan
Good morning, Is it dangerous or bad for the motor to keep my repair like this or must I replace the tacho and the magnet? After hearing the sounds, do you think the PCB is in question as you said in a previous answer? Or do you think there is probably another problem!? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted July 16, 2019 Root Admin Report Share Posted July 16, 2019 If the motor is sparking excessively then it is definitely not good. If it isn't, then it's hard to suggest what to do. I've never heard of a fault on the tacho coil or magnet that would cause this sort of issue. If they are faulty then either the motor stops working altogether, or it spins out of control. As I said it sounds like the motor is not receiving a smooth voltage. That could be caused potentially by a component inside the PCB. But I'm not in a position to suggest that replacing an expensive PCB will definitely cure it. Apart from doublechecking all of the connections and wires on the motor plug and in the harness going down to the PCB there's not much else you could do. You could try tentatively using the washing machine but there is a possibility that it could jump and leap about violently if the motor isn't under proper control. If you do risk it you need to be on hand to switch it off if it suddenly leaps about. If that did happen it is possible for the washing machine to sustain damage so it has to be your call.
