karatedragon
At the moment I am using Bold Lavendar and Chamomile together with Lenor Sleep Sensations fabric conditioner. I knwo Bold has in built softner but I feel the clothes are nicer with added conditioner. Is there a better detergent or one preferred by Miele? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted December 20, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 20, 2006 I think detergents with built in softener are a gimmick, a new product designed to create new sales that weren’t there before. The bizarre thing is that the companies making them probably also sell separate fabric conditioner. I presume they are aimed at people who don't use fabric conditioner, in which case they are probably better than not using anything at all. I don’t like products that try to do too many different jobs, especially if those jobs are quite different. Washing detergent needs to dissolve in the first wash water, do its job, and then get rinsed out through several rinses. You don’t want any detergent left on the laundry at the end of the wash programme. Fabric conditioner needs to go into the clothes and not get rinsed away, which is why it should go in on the very last rinse. I don’t know how these combined detergents work exactly, but I can’t see how they can be better than a dedicated fabric conditioner put in on the last rinse.
