AuntieAnn
Hi All, I have an LG direct drive steam washing machine. It is making noises that would indicate the circulation pump is at fault. I have contacted a local repair man, who insists he can disconnect this pump, stop the noise, and save me money. I’m obviously wary of his, as surely it wouldn’t have a recirculating pump if it didn’t need it? Can anyone help me out, would disconnecting it stop th steam function from working? He said to me, do you use it? “No” and insinuated I don’t need the function anyway what should I do? I feel stuck as I know nothing about washing machines!! many thanks Ann Edited July 6, 2018 by AuntieAnn Submitted too early
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted July 23, 2018 Root Admin Report Share Posted July 23, 2018 I’ve not heard of anyone doing this but theoretically the washing machine would still work. The circulation pump is there to compensate for the washing machine using less water. It showers the laundry with water on wash and rinses to help wet them more in less water Therefore I would expect the quality of washing and rinsing to be adversely affected without it.
