Strange brown spots on clothes

Of 3 out of the last 4 washes I have noticed than an item of clothing has a strange round circle on it, I can't tell what it is or what it's from, but it the same size/shape on all 3 items of clothing I have found it on (2 tops and 1 underwear, not noticed it on anything else)

hi - thats strange , it couldnt be a rusty metal button/stud off another garment/item of clothing in the drum could it? - only thing i can think of

have checked the drum and around the seal and can't find anything, one of the items of clothing that had it on hadn't been washed in with any jeans or anything that I can see anything that would make this mark on

Yes it's strange. Is the mark by any chance the same size as one of the holes in the drum? The first thing I would do is put the washing machine on a boil wash or at least 60 degrees. Put in some detergent but no laundry. You might also want to try some of the specially designed washing machine cleaning products. The closest article I have is about rust spots on clothes after washing but I don't know if they are rust spots or not.

It looks as though it's a little bit bigger, I did a bleach wash last night and an empty wash with detergent today, the seal at the bottom of the door is cleaner so i'm hoping this will help in the machine itself
