swhito
Thanks to this forum I just bought a new W1512 washer. What a fantastic machine!! Even the transit bars were a work of art! SO quiet too... Anyway I thought I read somewhere that there may be a free 3yr guarantee out there somewhere to download? I have the 2 yr one, but a free extra year would be nice, just in case... Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted December 4, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 Excellent. Miele have recently changed their guarantee structure. They used to have a 1 year standard guarantee, and then had various promotions giving certain models 3 year, 5 year and even 10 year guarantees. The current situation is that the 1 year guarantee has been extended to 2 years, with promotional offers on just a select few Miele washing machines of 10 years guarantee. The 10 year guarantee (as you'd expect) is on their (much) more expensive models. Currently the Miele washing machines with a 10 year guarantee are selected models in the 3000 range (models starting with 3) It's important to check the Miele site because you could buy a Miele washing machine from somewhere that is either unaware of the current promotion or hasn't kept up to date and you could miss out. Note that with many appliances offering more than a standard one year guarantee, the second year is often conditional on registering the product. Registering your washing machine is always a good idea because if there was a future recall involving a safety issue, those that have registered their product would get notified, while those that hadn't would have to hope to see a notice in the press. If they don't, they may not find out about an important safety issue. Safety issues are rare, especially on a quality product like a Miele washing machine, but better safe than sorry.
