Hi,

I need some help my washing machine has stopped working. What happens is i set the temperature and the machine spins a couple of times before it suddenly stops? It doesn't lose power or anything it just completely stops after a few spins. Any ideas what it could be? It's an indesit washing machine and it's pretty old.

Thanks

Does it take in any water? If it can't take in water it will stop.

Hi,

When the machine stops and we open the door the clothes are soaked in water so i am guessing it does. There is even excess water in the machine that we have to get out with a cup.

Maybe the fault is that it can't pump out the water properly. Have you checked the pump filter for blockages?

It's always at the front of the machine at the base Washing Machine Pump Filter

There are other things that can cause the water to not drain properly too including the plumbing Washing Machine Won’t Drain Water

I've looked on the front of the machine at the bottom but i can't see any cover that looks like you can take it off? The only thing i can see on the right hand side is a small cover with 4 screws around it and two bolt types in the middle of it. Please see the image in the URL below:

That looks like an old washing machine. It doesn't look like a pump filter is fitted. What make and model is it? Do you have the instruction manual for it? Not all washing machines have a pump filter.
