Hotpoint Smart Tech WMFUG842 issue

Hi folks, first time poster.  my Hotpoint has stopped responding, ie the display panel is all lit but nothing happens when you push the buttons.  Switch it off at the wall and back on and the lights just come back on and still no response from the machine.  No fault codes or anything, just every light on the panel is lit.  I fear it's something terminal, and not being technically minded I did all of the layman checks to see if hoses etc were not kinked etc.  Machine is 18 months old and we only ever use the 1 hour quick wash.  It had just finished a cycle when this happened.  No flooding or water anywhere.

With some Hotpoint washing machines if the motor or heater goes open circuit the display works but nothing works on the machine. First check the brushes.
