Thatchefguy
Hi there, I've had my washing machine over 2 years without any problems until I came back from a couple days away. The washing machine appeared to be powered on (not on a cycle) while in the off position. The display flashes no errors but where it should flash digits and letters looks just like gibberish. As soon as I tried to unplug it the whole house tripped out (doesn't seem to be a problem now). It looked as though it might have had a power surge while I was away as the display looked scrambled. I have replaced the control panel but it is still doing the same thing. I was wonder if there was anything else I could check? I have attached a picture. Thanks in advance
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted September 15, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted September 15, 2017 Hello. The control panel displays what the PCB tells it to so a display fault could be caused by either or both. I never recommend people replacing control panels or PCBs. They aren't cheap, you can't send them back and it's rarely 100% certain that they are the cause of the fault or the only fault. Need a repair or spare parts? Thatchefguy
I managed to locate the correct control panel (a used part) for £10 so I thought I'd give it a try. As for the PCB I'm not sure how lucky I will get. Thanks for the response. Edit It is the PCB. I had a wasp problem the same time that this died. Taking the cover off the PCB a have just found a bloody wasp in it, coincidences aren't all that real. Thanks again!
