elaine32
I unloaded the washing machine this morning (Bosch ClassiXX 1200 express.....about 10 years old) to find a piece of rigid plastic in the washing and all the washing covered in fine grey powder. I assumed someone had left something in a pocket, although family members denied this. I cleared up the grey powder and set the clothes through again....BIG MISTAKE!!! Within 2 minutes the floor was soaked and the electrics had cut out. I have now emptied the machine and cleared up the flood...obviously after unplugging it! Is this repairable? I have looked through several sites and this problem does not seem to appear anywhere. I enclose a picture of the plastic part found in the washing. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted April 17, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted April 17, 2017 I've never seen this, it's definitely a strange colour. The only thing I can assume is that it's from the main outer drum which is made of a fibrous plastic. This plastic is yellowish cream but it must have got dyed. If it is part of the outer drum the machine is now scrap. Either the drum or drum bearings have got loose and damaged the outer drum or something metal has been left in a pocket and damaged the drum. elaine32
Thank you Andy. Help much appreciated. the colour on the photo is not very true to life...more grey than that. Will order a new machine and not waste money on repairing this one. Your prompt reply is so helpful. Elaine Whitegoodshelp (Andy)

Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted April 18, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted April 18, 2017 I thought it was a weird colour. The outer plastic tubs are usually a creamy dull yellow or grey colour. Need a repair or spare parts?
