joanne
hi anybody got any ideas as to why every time my machine a(baumatic mega 6ss) goes onto rinse it sends my plumbing into overflow mode from the tank in the loft, having just moved surely both plumbing systems cannot be at fault as it happened at the old house aswell even after having the ballcocks replaced
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted October 25, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted October 25, 2006 Hello Joanne If you really mean the water overflows through the overflow pipe in the loft then I can't imagine any way a washing machine could cause that. It could trigger something if the plumbing is already dodgy by simply demanding cold water for rinsing, but your washing machine can't possibly cause the tank in the loft to overflow, especially as you say - in two different houses. If by any chance you mean the tank starts filling all the time it could be that the washing machine is siphoning - Washing machine constantly fills with water and goes down the drain Need a repair or spare parts? joanne
hi,for some reason the overflow only happens when the hot water is connected my husband turnt the supply to the machine off and presto no overflow from the roof and by coincedence the people that moved in our old house have exactly the same machine but no overflow my husband discovered when he collected some mail and chatted to the new owners all very strange
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted October 29, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted October 29, 2006 Bizarre, especially as you said it only does it when it goes into rinses, which has nothing to do with the hot water. Make sure you haven't got the hot and cold hoses the wrong way round on the washing machine. Don't take any notice of the colour of the taps or hoses as people can install them wrong. Check that when it's taking water on rinses, that the water isn't hot. If the machine is rinsing in hot water it will crease all the clothes and drain all the hot water from the tank everytime you wash. Need a repair or spare parts?
