doanhai.bui
My Hotpoint washing machine has been turning off at the end of the cycle, and I have to keep turning it on to finish the cycle, multiple times. Only happens at the last 30 minutes of the cycle. I notice that whenever the machine is shaken, whether by someone (when it is on but resting) or by the spinning/ rinsing (mid cycle), it goes off with no error code, just off. I think it's the vibration that loosens something and turns it off. Tried to open the top, but nothing loosen. Any suggestions to fix this thing, as I want to try to fix it first before spending on a new one.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted November 7, 2016 Root Admin Report Share Posted November 7, 2016 Check the plug and wall socket - especially if the socket is behind the machine first. I've known washing machine hoses resting against a wall socket's on off switch start to turn it off during spin. Also there could be a faulty connection in the wall socket. If the wall socket is behind the machine try plugging into a different one. doanhai.bui 1 Need a repair or spare parts? doanhai.bui
Update: It shows the F-09 error sometimes, and the led screen keeps flickering while running. Would you suggest buying a new PCB or just get a new washing machine?
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted November 13, 2016 Root Admin Report Share Posted November 13, 2016 Error F09 on Hotpoint washing machines usually means "set up error" - "incorrect or faulty Eeprom" which is the main chip. I would not get involved in buying and fitting a PCB. Many of them have to be programmed and you may need software to do it. You could try sending it to a specialist in repairing and reconditioning them like QER but only if you are determined to try and get it fixed. doanhai.bui 1 Need a repair or spare parts?
