gyblue
I have a Miele washing machine that our local engineer cannot fix and is at a loss as to what is the issue. Does anyone know if there is a list of recommended engineers that have the diagnostic equipment. Miele engineers charge £110 for the first 30 minutes and then £10 for every 6 minutes thereafter plus parts which is out of our league. Thanks Andrew
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 24, 2016 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 24, 2016 Unfortunately Miele are one of the brands that are difficult to get technical information for if you are an independent repairer. It is the same with many appliance brands but especially so with premium high-quality brands like Miele. At the end of the day the situation is that manufacturers who not only build and sell appliances but have a department that repairs them will inevitably see independent engineers as rivals and competition and are therefore commonly reluctant to help them. With Miele there is the added complexity of them being sophisticated premium appliances and Miele believe that they need their own highly qualified engineers to maintain them. They also have some specialist equipment on laptops which will never be made accessible to independent engineers. With Miele machines being so generally reliable few engineers really bother with them and many would just refuse to call out to one unless it sounded like a very straightforward issue. If you've already had an engineer out and he is unable to work out the problem then it is probably safe to say that you will need a proper Miele engineer, or at least an authorised Miele repairer. Try checking out if there is an authorised Miele repairer somewhere in your area who may charge less than Miele themselves. gyblue 1 Need a repair or spare parts?
