I used my Hoover washer dryer for 22 years, and found the condenser to be a weak spot.

If you have some skills in DIY (do read the safety warning of this website) you might consider taking out the condenser. Inside fresh water is sprayed into the hot stream of air circulating, thus cooling the air and providing condensation starting points at the same time, therefore drying the air.

Unfortunately spraying water does mean limestone buildup if your water is full of it. Also, some lint in the airflow might accumulate on the limestone, and the combination might be a spot where black mould can grow.

With my Hoover I have to repeat taking out the condenser and throughly clean it with some acid every two years... At least my model does not have any way to flush out the interior of the condenser, so it has to be taken out every once in a while.

I never had smell that came from the washing part of the machine, only from the drying part...

Hope this helps

Oliver
