wendyem
Hello, Does anyone have any knowledge as to what error code E80 refers to on the above model washing machine? It is not listed in the booklet I have; prior to this being displayed the washing machine had, on a couple of occasions, failed to spin correctly with the items still be soaked at the end of the cycle, but it had then gone on to be fine again for a few months. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 25, 2014 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 25, 2014 None of the Hoover error codes I have go anywhere near up to 80. Need a repair or spare parts? wendyem
Hi - thanks for the reply. I have contacted Hoover as this error was not listed in my manual and I could find no mention of it anywhere on the internet. They advised that it usually indicates a fault with the motor but that was all they could tell me!
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 26, 2014 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 26, 2014 Only two or three errors are ever listed in the user manuals, ones which often indicate user faults which they can sort themselves such as childlock on, or no water coming into machine (check tap is turned on) or not draining (check filter). Any others are always for engineers only and many are deliberately hidden or restricted as much as possible to anyone but a manufacturer's own engineers or dealers. If it implicates the motor check the motor plug and all tags and connections inside it as well as the corresponding connector on the motor which it plugs into. Also check the carbon brushes to see if one is charred as per this article (carbon brushes diagnostics) The carbon brushes diagnostics is written for Hotpoint brushes but the principles are exactly the same for all carbon brushes. If you can't find anything call an engineer as it could be too many other things. wendyem 1 Need a repair or spare parts? Tessa Parker
June 2019 I have this E80 code coming up on my Belling Washer Dryer. I have phone Belling and their customer service cannot fine anything about this code. As my machine is still under warranty (1 week over 1yr old, I have a 2yr warranty) they are sending out an engineer. I will re post when I know what the answer is, as there does not seem to be any answers on the web. This may help anyone else, including washing machine engineers. Thanks for this site, I have been here before. Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
