Beko Washing Machine Problem. Machine Starts, Stops Early, Won't Wash Or Drain Water.

I own a Beko WM6355W washing machine, I've had it for three years and I'm starting to have a problem with it.

The Machine starts okay, the water comes in, and then after 3 minutes it suddenly stops (showing three minutes have passed of the cycle on the display 1:39 to 1:36) and no washing is going on.

The machine is full of water, and I can't open the door unless I turn it off. I have to manually drain the water using the filter pipe at the bottom. The filter is not blocked I have checked.

Also, when I turn off the machine, after one minute it clicks meaning I can open the door., but if I open the door water comes out.

I've checked online and I haven't found any solutions.

The symptoms are slightly confusing. It sounds like the drum isn't turning and it isn't draining the water, which are two different faults. If the motor isn't running and no washing is happening it should still drain the water if you move it to spin or select a cancel.

Sorry about the confusing symptoms.

The drum isn't turning, but the water is coming in and filling up, but the machine cuts on and off as if it's trying to turn the drum.

It eventually goes off (like the program is finished) but if you open the door it's full of water and have to drain it manually.

So, if it is the motor, what should I do?

It could be aborting the programme after detecting a fault but when they abort the programmes they always drain the water. But having said that it depends how much water is left as if the drum isn't turning they will still be sopping wet and lying in some water after an abort which could be confused for not draining. If it literally doesn't drain any water when it aborts then follow the guide in the second link for not draining water first. Also, if any lights are flashing or lit up it may be reporting an error code which could help narrow it down.

Unfortunately the symptoms aren't conducive to narrowing much down.

I followed a guide to self test/reset my Washing Machine a few days after this happened.

I tried doing it again, and an error "F11" came up on the screen while I was held the "Start Pause" button. What does this mean?

I can try and check for other errors, I believe F10 came up as well (when I tried it a few days ago), but I'm not certain.

They are error codes but again you should only get one. It's possible the first time it was the last recorded error and last time it's the current error. I don't have Beko error codes starting with F, only E, so there's no way to say if they are the same or different, but E10 refers to a motor fault which could have several causes, the motor itself being only one of them. If you are good at DIY check the carbon brushes in the motor (there's help and advice in the first link I posted). Other than that it may be a wild goose chase trying to fix it yourself.

We tried to move the Washing Machine into place, and I noticed that the Drum seemed to move as well, like it was out of alignment (if that's possible) coud this have anything to do with the problem.

Also, when we tried the test before, we also got P00 on the display as well. What does this mean.

The drum should move with the washer as it's suspended on springs. A quick removal of the lid should show if anything looks wrong. I would suspect the display was to do with the test sequence.

I've had this machine for a good few years and have had three issues with it that were easily fixed.

 

1st Issue was the drum not turning or completing any wash cycles, always filled with water at start, found when I checked at the back of machine by removing the inspection panel that it had for some reason thrown the belt, a bit of gentle coaxing to get the belt back on and working fine ever since.

2nd Issue was machine would start, fill with water go through its cycle as normal but wouldnt spin or drain water out and would sit for hours repeating itself before stopping, but door could be opened a few minutes after cancelling the wash cycle, done and internal inspection of the machine for anything obvious and found that the 2 pin multiplug which plugged into the drain filter had come loose, plugged back in and all seemed fine.

3rd Issue happened 10th may 2020

Same issue as 2nd Issue, but on checking found that the 2 pin multiplug was still attached as it should be.

tried removing the filter but it would only turn about a quarter of an inch and seemed jammed (More on this later)

What you will need is small Philips screwdriver, large pair of pliers or mole grips, and a small flat blade screwdriver.

Unplug washing machine from Mains Supply, turn off and disconnect the cold water supply and waste supply to house drain.

Pull off the cover at the bottom of the front of the machine to expose the filter housing

I Pulled machine out from recess under the counter by about 18 inches, be careful of your pipes at the back becoming jammed as you pull it out, then I lifted the front so that it rested back against the worktop and used a 6lb brick under the machine on the floor where the left hand foot was located incase machine fell forward when working on it

Remove the 3 screws holding the pump/filter housing in place, and reach in underneath and turn anticlockwise to free it from washing machine, you can then see the 2 hoses held on by spring hose clips, easily removed and slipped back up the pipes and removed pipes from filter housing, the multiplug is on a really short piece of wire and is a pain in the ass to reach because the filter housing and metal framework of the body of washing machine gets in the way.

Once removed you can see in the pipe holes for any coins ( 5p coins are exactly the same diameter as one of the pipes and blocks it easily ), turn the filter slowly back and forward to get the coins and screws and other bits that are blocking it from turning fully out through the holes, mines had a 50p stuck in it so it wouldnt turn more than 10mm so i had to split the filter in half, look on the body where the two halves meet, using a marker pen place 2 marks next to each other, one each half so you rebuild housing in the same way as you took it apart, important for the lining up of hoses later, look on the join and press out the latch that stops it from turning, the two halves will now move about 10mm and unlock from each other, then you can look inside from bottom to remove any obstructions, a small flatbade screwdriver is good for teasing out coins and screws.

then just reassemble the part and refit to washing machine taking care to realign your marker pen marks together so when you put pump back under machine, the hoses all connect in the right places, reattaching the multiplug is a pain in the ass because the wire is very short, just use a little patience and fit it correctly as it will only go on the pump in one way.

Push machine back into where it sits and reconnect mains water supply and drain hose, then plug back into mains and do a test wash on the mini setting
