andymp
Hi. I have a Hotpoint WF860P washing machine. My problem is that the drum doesn't rotate. The washing machine does everything else fine. Starts, locks the door, fills up, heats the water, empties. But the drum doesn't rotate. I have consulted the FAQ's, The belt is ok, The motor is a 3 phase stator type, therefore has no brushes. The machine doesn't display any fault codes. Even with the belt removed, the motor still doesn't spin. I have tested the heating element, it is pulling 1.8kw, so that is ok. Are the brushless motors known to fail? or is there any way to test it? Or could it be the control board. Nothing looks burnt or damaged and the wiring looks ok Thankyou in advance. andymp
Turned out to be a broken wire in the wiring harness between the control board and the motor... sigh Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
