Rusty
Hi, A week or so ago my machine was ending wash cycles leaving clothes still very wet, I assumed motor brushes needed renewing and as I had a spare set decided to fit them. Old brushes still looked good (about 25-30mm long) but changed them anyway. Clothes still wet! Next I examined drain pump which really was knackered, impeller was virtually hanging off spindle. fitted new pump thinking all would be well but clothes are still wet! When starting cycle, water fills and I can see the drum move very slightly then it just buzzes and stays stationary as if it's trying to rotate but can't, it seems as if there is not enough grunt to turn the drum. (drum rotates freely when turning by hand out of cycle) and when I put it on spin cycle it does turn but nowhere near the 1200 rpm its supposed to do. Can any experts out there tell me if I need new motor or is it the control module at fault? Kind regards Rusty
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted July 26, 2013 Root Admin Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 Sounds like a possible control module fault but wouldn't advise buying new one, they are expensive and none returnable. There's always the possibility of a faulty armature in the motor too. Not worth speculatively buying expensive parts. Need a repair or spare parts?
