SA_guy
Hello forum, I have a LG WD80264 NP washing machine, who suddenly came up with ALL LEDS being lit, and no option whatsoever (no button works, and no specific error code is on display). After 2 mins, it turns off. If you unplug it, and re-plug it in, the same "all leds lit" situation occurs again, with no button response (not even power button). Any advice will be highly appreciated, as we know we handled the machine with much care, and been so happy with it for 3 years now. Regards, Mir in South Africa PS I attache a picture of the machine, with all led lit, as it is PS2: I have read the DIY Repair Help, unfortunately had to come to the forum as my last resort, thanks
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 23, 2013 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 23, 2013 Washing machines are not normally designed to light all the lights up so if it happens it's normally not straight forward. On some models of LG there is an engineers test sequence that when activated lights all the lights up at once so on the face of it it could look like the test sequence is initiated but the display should also be showing something. By any chance does anything happen if you press the start button when this is happening? One of the main suspects has to be an issue with the software or main pcb though I would not recommend speculatively replacing anything. The main advice I can give is that it isn't anything with a known simple diy fix Need a repair or spare parts? SA_guy
Andy, Thank you for your reply. When "all led lit" happens, NO button is responsive (power, start/pause, temperature, program, etc.). I will call somebody, the call-out fee is roughly 60 EUR/30 minutes, but I'm afraid he will give me a peppery quote.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 23, 2013 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 23, 2013 If by any chance it was in diagnostic mode (it was a long shot) then the start button would advance it on. Sorry I can't have more specific help but if you let us know what the engineer finds it will be very useful. Good luck. I like that phrase by the way, never heard that before - is it something they say in South Africa or something just you say? (Peppery quote). Andy Need a repair or spare parts? SA_guy
Andy, Will let the forum know about the tech guy's findings. As far as I know, "Peppery" is an old Rhodesian (now Zimbabwe) word, I got it from a friend who hails from Bulawayo (once, that area was the "granary" of the whole British Empire, due to its fabulous fertile lands) Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
Karoo1965
Hi, I am experiencing the same issue as SA_guy. did he eventually discover what the issue was?
SA_guy2
Hi Karoo1965. This is SA_guy but I dont know the account anymore. That post is so old, not in South Africa anymore. I remember I had to change the whole board, it was around 100 USD. Sorry for not following up with the tech's findings at that time. Happy New Year all Whitegoodshelp (Andy)
