Bauknecht Wa3620 How To Operate

Recommended Posts

I've got an old bauknecht wa3620 but I don't understand the timer. Tried to start a program but the program took about two hours.

Can someone explain to me what each buttom do and what should I choose for each set of cloths?

Thanks ahead

EDIT: I'll be Glad if someone could tell me what kind of laundry each timer symbol represent (whites, everyday clotes, jeans and so....) .

I don't have any links to Bauknecht washing machine manuals but I do have some advice to try and help how to use a washing machine without an instruction manual although it's pretty general Lost Washing Machine User Manual

The control knob on the left controls the final spin speed including a no spin option, the one in the middle controls the water temperature and the symbols on the right control knob should be pretty standard across most washing machines.

They should be designed to be self explanatory but they can be a little cryptic at times. All wash programmes have the water temperature at the side so set the middle knob to that temperature (or lower).

There's a symbol with a hand, which must be hand wash for really delicate items. The one with a symbol looking like a ball of wool is woollens. The one with a feather must be a very delicate wash too.

The one with picture of a shower and the spin symbol must be rinse and spin only in case you'd hand washed something or something needed extra rinsing (set the spin speed required with the dial on left).

I would try the programme at the 3 O Clock position with picture of shirts for cottons, jeans, cotton shirts etc with the middle knob set to 40 degrees. Use the same programme with temperature set to 60 for bed sheets to (help kill any bed bugs).I'd spin everything except very delicate stuff at 800, which is extremely slow by today's standards.

If you have more delicate shirts or items try the programme further round the dial, which should be a shorter programme.

They are the cryptic ones ;) Most people only use 1 programme, 2 - 3 max. My wife puts almost everything on 40 degree cottons wash and sheets on 60 degree cottons wash. Most people that I know of never use 70% of the programmes on their dial.

Cotton, Wool, Delicates .. which is your feather .. the triangle sign, is actually a chemical beaker with a thermometer in it .. so SYNTHETICS.  Theres a deep water icon, or soak and I'm guessing the sprials of 2 different intensities represent wash strength, ie normal or heavy duty.  Also the weird one north of the wool symbol that also says 30 degrees, no clue, cant see clearly enough to guess, but its sort of looks like a cotton but just kind of a scrunched icon to fit in the space.

I've never owned one, and am only half German by blood only,
