Curious
Hi, the door of my washing machine wont release after the cycle has completed. It spins fast and seems OK in every other respect. I think something blew either in the washer or the microwave as it blew the fuse for that circuit. The light on the door catch stays on - turning the power off of setting it to another point on the dial has no effect. Any suggestions as it's full of clothes and heavy to move and I need to get them out.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted June 7, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted June 7, 2006 It's sounds like the door interlock could have shorted out inside. They have a bi-metal strip inside them, which when the washing machine has finished should cool down and release the locking mechanism. If this has happend then you are stuck I'm afraid. Especially if you can't pull the washer out. If you try to force the door you are likely to break the door and catch causing more expense. I think it would be better to call someone out. If you don't know anyone you can trust I would recommend trying someone who advertises on Washerhlp here - Find an appliance repairman I do have an article on my main site which might help first though - Door jammed Need a repair or spare parts?
