Indesit Evolution 1409 Error Code F12

My washing machine came up with this error code and the door wouldn't open until I turned off the machine.when I turned it back on the code is still there.the machine is about 9 years old.is it worth trying to get it fixed or should I just invest in a new one?

F12 is a "communication error" between the display board and main PCB on most Indesit error code lists. You could try checking connections for something obvious but otherwise not much you can try.
