Bouncy Springs Sound When Spinning

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Can you help - have I got a problem in the making?

I have a Hotpoint First edition 800 WM51, approximately 6 months ago a repairman replaced the brushes - all was fine until now ...... on the spin cycle I hear want I can only described as a clanking bouncing spring sound. If I move the drum back & forth from front to back it still makes the sound.

Sorry really don't know how to describe the noise. I have looked through the faq's and can't find a mention of a similar problem.

Is this a problem in the making and I will need to get a repairman or is it an age thing and i just have to live with it?

Other than that it is a good machine and I have been told easy to repair if needs be.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Sally

Take the lid off and check the tub is held in place by two springs. One at the front and one at the back. Theses machines are known for the tub springs breaking, especially the front one.
