Hotpoint Wm62 Dial Trips Electrics

I have got a hotpoint wm62 aquarius 1000 and when i change programme by using the turn dial the RCD in my mains fuse box trips i had a electrician out and they checked all my sockets and the fuse box and said it seemed to be coming from my machine when he turned the programnme dial, i cant afford a massive repair bill is there any way i can check if there is any lose wires or anything.

You need it checked with an insulation test meter carried by all proper repairmen. It puts 500 volts (dc) through the machine and allows them to track down which part is leaking to earth.
