John Lewis give 2 year guarantee on white goods appliances

Hi there, we have had our Siemens XL 1600 washing machine for 6 years. I have just opened the door after a wash and all the washing is dripping wet. Put it back on spin, but wouldn't spin.

Have just tried doing another load, it sounds like it is starting up, but then nothing happens, it won't spin or do anything much.

Is there something I can do to fix it? Any ideas what is wrong or is it beyond help?

Would be very grateful for any replies.

Thanks

This fault can have many causes so it's best to get an engineer in if it isn't one of the few relatively simply issues described in my washing machine troubleshooting article - Washing machine won't spin or drum won't go round
