bantamrjv
I'm hoping to buy my first ever washing machine!! how exciting! After reading about lots of different things i think i'm going to splash out and buy the Miele W1714. My only quesiton is about the warranty. I've seen a lot of talk about 10 year and 5 year warranties, but when I look at buying the machine no site mentions it. What's the crack? Is it a limited period offer? If so, does anyone have any inside info as to when Miele may offer this again?
FUGAZI
I've just started looking for my first one too and have been impressed with what I have read about Miele (thanks Washerhelp). I called Miele customer support today and I was informed that the 10year warrenty offer should hopefully start around the end of this month. I'm waiting until then... That's my understanding, it won't be long now. No idea why there's been a few weeks gap unless it was an experiment to see how sales were affected. Need a repair or spare parts? garym
That's my understanding, it won't be long now. No idea why there's been a few weeks gap unless it was an experiment to see how sales were affected. That's good news. If the machines are as reliable as we are led to believe then the extended warranties must be a great and inexpensive way for Miele to promote their products. I would think the 10 year warranty especially goes a long long way in attracting new business from people fed up with paying for repairs/new machines as well as helping to justify the price premium. I think this is important for most people browsing the stores as it really differentiates Miele from the other brands .Unless you do your research (Washerhelp ) you probably wouldn't understand where all the extra money was going. I will also be ordering a new washer when the extended warranties are released again.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted August 14, 2007 Root Admin Report Share Posted August 14, 2007 Unless you do your research (Washerhelp ) you probably wouldn't understand where all the extra money was going. Thanks Gary. It's amazing how easy it is to just dismissively write off "expensive" products without stopping to wonder why they are more expensive. No one is going to produce something at twice the cost unless they know it is worth every penny and more. A Miele may not be for everyone (because of the extra investment cost) but at least if people realise exactly what the extra money goes into they can make an informed choice.
